NCM cells (Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt-Oxide) have a high energy density and can be charged and discharged at high C rates. This makes it possible to build small batteries with high performance and capacity. The rather linearly decreasing discharge curve makes it easier for the BMS to determine the exact available capacity.
The LFP cells (lithium iron phosphate) are considered to be very safe. Thanks to the non-oxidizing electrolyte there are no thermal effects up to 300°C. Since no rare earths and heavy metals are contained, the LFP cells are considered non-toxic and harmless for the environment. During recycling, all substances except the liquid electrolyte can be reused. When charging and discharging, the battery cell has an honest flat curve. This means that the voltage remains at 3.2V for a long time.
LTO cells (lithium titanate) have a very resilient and durable electrode. This is one of the main reasons for the aging of lithium batteries. The great advantage of an LTO cell is its amazing cycle stability. Some guys can load and unload 10,000 times. This is the case with high currents.
